Starting as an exercise dedicated to simplicity, it evolved into an exploration of texture and timbre. When approaching the video, this textures are what inspired me to film some of my favourite things in the city: glitching lights and the filth that accumulates on the brick walls and beams underneath bridges due to humidity, weathering and pollution.
It has always amused me how from such harsh environment, some plants manage to root deep into the brick and flourish within their unforgiving surroundings. Filmed around where I live in South London, I try to match the textures of my writing against both of these somehow brutal phenomena, and other hidden spaces enclosed within the lower bank of the river.
